Placing an order

How can I pay for my order?
If you order online, you will be taken to Paypal to pay for your order. If you would prefer to pay by card over the phone you can do. We can send pro formas upon request and take payment by BACS or cheque. Please note, goods cannot be despatched until payment has cleared. The only exception to this is customers who have credit accounts, where payment is within 30 days.

Do I have to pay VAT?
If your order is being delivered to a UK address you have to pay VAT. The only time you do not have to pay VAT is if you are from an EU country and you have a valid EU VAT number. You can put this number on your account or input it at checkout to deduct the VAT from your order. VAT can only be deducted if your order is being sent to an EU country outside the UK, with a valid EU VAT number.

What is the minimum order quantity?
You can order from as little as one container, cap, spray or box.

Can I change my order?
Once an order has been placed, it cannot be amended. If you would like to cancel your order and place a new one, please phone us, tel: 0161 367 1414, and we can refund you then place and take payment for your new order, or charge you the difference if your new order is more expensive than your previous one.

How will I receive my Invoice?
All invoices will be sent via email upon successful completion of our checkout process. We currently provide all invoices electronically at the point of sale. Within 2020 we will be removing the paper versions that accompany our orders. This is in line with our commitment to reducing waste and our carbon footprint as a company. If you require an invoice for any of your orders, you will find all information stored in your “My Account” section. If you require historical invoices, please contact our customer service team via email – [email protected]

Delivery information

How much is delivery?
Courier delivery charges are calculated on the weight and bulk of your order and your postcode. To check the delivery charge for your order, create an account on the website, add the items to your basket and click on ‘Checkout’. You will then be shown the cost for delivery before you actually place your order.

Why is delivery so expensive?
On many items, the cost of carriage seems out of proportion to the cost of the items. This is due to the unique nature of what we deliver. For example, 20 x 5l jerricans weigh 3kg, but the jerricans hold 80 cubic litres in volume and the carriage company charges for volume. You will find that you can usually order many more items for the same courier fee.

How long does delivery take?
We aim to dispatch all orders within 3-5 working days (subject to stock availability). Once your order has been dispatched, it will go by Courier. Orders delivered by courier will need to be signed for on delivery. Please note that we are unable to offer next day delivery.

Can I have a Saturday delivery?
We don’t do Saturday deliveries unless there are special circumstances. Please be aware that we are charged more by our courier company for this service, which we have to pass on.

Which countries do we deliver to?
We predominantly deliver to the UK and we can also deliver to Europe. However, if you are in Europe (outside the UK) and wish to order a large/heavy lot of goods, we would advise that you arrange for a courier to collect from us. We do NOT deliver to anywhere outside of Europe.

Collections

Can I collect and avoid delivery charges?
Order collections are currently suspended due to Covid 19. All orders must be placed online for delivery via our courier. We reserve the right to amend collections at any time.

Product information

Can I recycle PET and HDPE plastic packaging?
Products made from PET plastic (polyethylene terephthalate) are 100% recyclable. They are melted down and can be turned into other plastic bottles or jars, as well as the fibres being used in certain fabrics! HDPE plastic (high-density polyethylene) is also recyclable, having the ability to be turned into other food-safe HDPE packaging products such as milk bottles, as well as garden furniture, bins and even pipes. Just make sure to put them into the designated plastic collection bin for your council!

Will my bottles, jars or containers arrive sterilised and ready to use?
Our products come into us directly from their place of manufacture. They are then stored in our warehouse, where we pack them then dispatch them to you. This means that they may have picked up dust particles etc during transit and storage. We therefore highly recommend that you sterilise the products before you use them.

Can I put sparkling/fizzy liquids in the plastic juice bottles?
No, you cannot put sparkling or fizzy liquids in the plastic juice bottles.

Do the capsizes on the website represent the external diameter of the cap?
Yes, the capsizes stated on the website are the external diameter measurement of the cap, not the internal diameter.

What is the resistance of HDPE, PP, PS, PET, LDPE and PVC for my chemical or substance?
Borealis has a list of chemicals and substances and polyethylene’s resistance to them.

What is the resistance of PET for my chemical or substance?
A list of chemicals/substances and PET’s resistance to them can be found here.

What is the resistance of glass for my chemical or substance?
Glass is highly resistant to water, neutral and acid solutions, concentrated acids and acid mixtures, chlorine, bromine, iodine and organic substances. Its chemical resistance is superior to that of most metals and other materials, even during prolonged periods of exposure and at temperatures above 100°C. Only hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and strong alkali cause appreciable surface removal of the glass (glass corrosion) at elevated temperatures (>100°C).

Can I hot fill my product?
Yes, into any glass product and up to a maximum 60°c for PET and HDPE bottles.

Is the product food grade?
All items sold on this website are made from food contact approved materials. A certificate of conformity is available on request.

Chemical Compatibility?
A matrix is available from the website, however, lots of data can be found by typing ‘HD-LD chemical compatibility’ into Google.

Can I freeze plastic?
We always recommend customers carry out their own product test. Freezing plastic containers can depend on the product in the container. For example, if you put liquid in a closed bottle without leaving room in it for expansion, your container could crack or burst.

Can I store petrol/oil in stackables?
You can put petrol in stackables, however, it depends on how you intend to store the stackables with petrol in. Incorrect storage could be a problem. Trading standards offer rules on the storage of petrol.

Can I use a 30-litre bucket as a fishing seat?
Yes, it should hold a fully grown man.
